Combining traditional Yoga with Physiotherapy
A conventional physiotherapy assessment and an appropriate Yoga analysis offers a unique and integrated approach to therapy. This holistic treatment is beneficial whether your needs are physical, emotional or spiritual.
Through detailed subjective and objective analysis a Holistic Yoga programme will be established.
During the sessions you will be guided through a series of stretching and strengthening asanas (exercises) and simple breathing techniques which support your healing journey. This holistic approach is beneficial for all ages and abilities. No previous experience with Yoga or exercise is necessary as exercises and postures are taught appropriately for each individual.
By learning to breathe correctly one can allow a natural release of tension in the body and mind. As the spine starts to unwind, physical and emotional blocks are released nourishing flow to the tissues, muscles and vital organs and offering space and lightness within. This will help to rebalance you in a profound and wonderful way, inviting a true sense transformation and empowerment.
Through subsequent sessions your exercise program will be modified and progressed according to your needs.
Allow a holistic practice to energise you and connect you back to your inner self. Experience the timeless benefits of Yoga’s ancient teachings to bring the gift of peace, life force and flow back to your life.
Holistic body massage is well known for helping to reduce muscular tension and stress, anxiety and depression. By soothing the nervous system, improving circulation and releasing toxins, the immune system is invigorated, helping to restore inner harmony and well being.
A combination of different massage techniques, reiki healing and cranio-sacral will leave you feeling deeply rested, nurtured, calm and ultimately at peace with your self and others.
Aromatherapy oils are used to help support deep relaxation.
Cranio-Sacral therapy is a subtle and profound type of healing treatment, which supports deep change and promotes the bodies own natural capacity for self-repair. The client will be fully clothed and the therapist works on different parts of the body using gentle techniques to encourage and support tissue release and change where ever there is injury, pain, tightness and/or restriction in the body.
Generally the client will feel very relaxed during and after the sessions and feel release of tension throughout the body. Cranio-sacral treatment seems to be the interface between the physical, spiritual and emotional worlds, it can help support one's journey towards well being and deep transformation.
Reiki is a non-invasive natural spiritual healing, independent of religion, belief and faith. It is universal love that is channelled through the therapist to the client.
Reiki is especially wonderful for relaxation, releasing stress and for creating a deep sense of peace and love within helping one to become present and feel connected.
The client is fully clothed is generally treated lying on a couch or seated on a chair, whilst the therapist places their hands over different parts of the body.
Experiencing the true sense of wholeness and union is the highest yoga.
Therapeutic Pilates exercises are designed to strengthen
the body, especially the core and bring about muscle rebalance.
They are generally taught as part of an exercise regime individually designed to help those with poor posture, back, neck or shoulder injury and are particularly useful after childbirth to strengthen the muscles of the pelvic floor and abdomen.
Breathing Exercises, Pranayama & Meditation
Breathing exercises are taught to enable breathing to be experienced at a deeper level.
- Guidance to help release the breathing muscle (diaphragm).
- Simple exercises to open the chest and lungs to enable optimal breath capacity and efficiency.
- Breathing exercises to improve oxygen absorption in the body which leads to improved vitality, immunity and health.
You will be guided and taught different breathing exercises, including relaxed diaphragmatic breathing, yogic breathing, pause breath breathing, alternate nostril and ujjai breath.
Also guidance and support with simple ways to help either start or progress a meditation practice.
In our busy modern world the pace of life can feel over whelming at times and juggling home and family with working can be particularly challenging. Stress and poor communication tend to be the major causes of problems within relationships. Busy lives that are not balanced with rest and fun can in the long term lead to depression, anxiety and also medical problems. Tension and over stimulation tend to be the main causes of illness and poor health. The term dis-ease easily describes the pattern that escalates when one is unbalanced.
Learning simple ways to help relax the mind can be transformational and enables one to cope with the every day stresses and strains. Most importantly we need short effective practices that give us instant relief and restore us to a state of balance and wholeness.
Within this session you would learn simple physical exercises to relax the body together with breathing techniques that help to ease and calm the mind.
